Fried Potato Sticks: A Delicious and Easy-to-Prepare Side dish!
Ingredients
- 400g potatoes
- 90 g (3/4 cup) cornstarch
- Salt to taste
- 90 g grated Edam cheese
- Vegetable oil (frying oil)
Preparation
- Peel the potatoes, cut into cubes and boil for 20 minutes or until tender.
- Mash the potatoes using a sieve.
- In a bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, cornstarch, grated cheese and season with salt and pepper. Mix everything well.
- Transfer the dough to a plastic zip bag and flatten the mixture with a rolling pin. Place in the freezer for 15 minutes.
- Open the zip bag with a knife and cut the dough into 1 cm sticks.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, fry the sticks over medium to low heat for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown.
