Fried Potato Sticks: A Delicious and Easy-to-Prepare Side dish!

Ingredients

  • 400g potatoes
  • 90 g (3/4 cup) cornstarch
  • Salt to taste
  • 90 g grated Edam cheese
  • Vegetable oil (frying oil)

Preparation

  1. Peel the potatoes, cut into cubes and boil for 20 minutes or until tender.
  2. Mash the potatoes using a sieve.
  3. In a bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, cornstarch, grated cheese and season with salt and pepper. Mix everything well.
  4. Transfer the dough to a plastic zip bag and flatten the mixture with a rolling pin. Place in the freezer for 15 minutes.
  5. Open the zip bag with a knife and cut the dough into 1 cm sticks.
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, fry the sticks over medium to low heat for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown.
