Homemade trick to store garlic and maintain its flavor for months

By Lesia

Garlic in oil:

  1. Peeled and chopped: Peel and finely chop the garlic cloves. You can do it manually or using a food processor.
  2. Dip in olive oil: Place the minced garlic in a clean, dry glass jar. Then, cover them completely with good quality olive oil. Make sure all the garlic pieces are submerged in the oil.
  3. Refrigerator Storage: Store the jar in the refrigerator. The oil will act as a protective barrier, helping to preserve the garlic and prevent mold from developing. In addition, the resulting garlic oil will also be useful in cooking.

This method will not only extend the shelf life of the garlic, but it will also provide you with a flavored oil that you can use in cooking. Remember to label the jar with the preparation date and check periodically to make sure there are no signs of spoilage. Keep in mind that this method is not completely “forever,” but it should keep the garlic fresh for several months.
