The best homemade solution to clean a very dirty oven

By Lilia

Nowadays , there are many store – bought cleaning products that guarantee the elimination of grease and unpleasant odors from the oven .

Although some are effective due to the chemicals they contain, there are also homemade solutions that can make the oven look neat and shiny in no time .

I recommend: Remedies to avoid and eliminate snails and slugs on your plants

To prevent dirt from accumulating inside , you should clean it regularly so that food remains do not have the opportunity to dry and accumulate on trays , racks or walls .

When preparing food, it is recommended to cover the trays with aluminum foil or parchment paper .

It is important to clean the oven after each use with a mixture of water and vinegar ; Not doing so is one of the most common mistakes made when using an oven .

To illustrate, I will show you a homemade and ecological way to clean a very dirty oven . We will use an ecological cleaner that is biodegradable and very effective.

Homemade recipe to clean a very dirty oven

1- We will start by pouring a little water into the trays and preheating the oven to 200ºC for 5 minutes. We will leave the trays inside to soften the caked-on dirt.

2- While the temperature rises, we prepare the cleaning product that we are going to use. The main components are baking soda , bar soap, and vinegar.

3- In a bowl, combine 3 tablespoons of baking soda with 6 tablespoons of liquid soap to create a creamy mixture. You’ll need vinegar, but that comes into play later.

4- Bar soap is ideal for this job, as it is an excellent degreaser and perfect for cleaning the kitchen. If you don’t have bar soap on hand, use whatever you have lying around.

5- When the oven has heated up, turn it off and spread the cleaner on the trays, racks and door glass.

6- Completely cover the accessories with the cleaner and then add vinegar, making sure it is distributed evenly throughout the oven and its components .

7- Close the oven and wait a few minutes for the dirt to loosen due to the residual heat . Afterwards, take out all the removable parts and finish cleaning them in the sink. I suggest that you use a steel wool (steel wool or brush ) to scrub away the dirt particles , and that you rinse each element well .

8- In addition, clean both the interior of the oven and its door by brushing with a steel fiber ; if necessary , add more vinegar if all the cleaner has already dried .

9- To complete this cleaning process , clean the remains of homemade cleaner with a damp cloth and use a dry cloth to clean the interior of the oven and its accessories.

10 Next , put the trays and racks back in place . To make sure the oven is completely dry , leave it open for 15-20 minutes.

And ready! With just a few simple steps, your oven will be like new.
