5 Powerful Tricks to Locate and Destroy “Cockroach Eggs”

By Lilia

It is not uncommon to find a single cockroach in the kitchen, and we may think it was an isolated incident if we get rid of it.

However , after a few days , an infestation of these repulsive insects can become evident .

We recommend: Trick with a plastic bottle to repair broken brooms

The thing is that once a female cockroach enters our home , it reproduces , so we must first deal with the eggs .

It goes without saying that you need to act quickly and use some methods to find the cockroach eggs and eliminate them .

The proliferation of this pest can be shocking; let’s look at the numbers carefully:

  • German cockroaches are particularly notable for their high reproductive potential . On average , a female can live for 200 days and lay between 30 and 50 eggs during her lifetime .
  • American cockroaches , on the other hand , usually produce nine or ten egg capsules in about 45 days , each of which produces about 14 babies .

In view of these astonishing numbers, let’s see how to locate and exterminate them:

An interesting point to note is that cockroaches tend to inhabit cracks and crevices , especially when the environment is warm or humid , which provides them with an optimal place to lay their eggs .

1. Trick: With silica gel

The little bags that come with shoes , medicines , or eggs are there to keep them from getting wet. In the case of eggs , these bags will dry them out completely.

2. Trick: With boric acid

It involves preparing a combination of ingredients that will eliminate the eggs:

Ingredients:

  • 400 gr. of  boric acid
  • 150 gr. of polenta
  • 100 gr. of wheat flour
  • 100 gr. of sugar

Procedure:

  • We mix all the ingredients in a container.
  • Then we proceed to apply this mixture in all the cracks where the cockroaches were found.

3. Trick: With isopropyl alcohol

We will use a syringe to inject isopropyl alcohol into the cracks and gaps where the eggs are located.

This procedure will be repeated throughout the day. The purpose of doing this is to dry the eggs, so we chose isopropyl alcohol, as it is suitable for this purpose.

4. Tip: Covering gaps and cracks so they don’t come back

Once we are sure that there is no trace of the disgusting pest left , we must fill any openings or gaps with cement to complete the job.

5. Tip: Vacuum up cockroach eggs

This step is very effective, as with a vacuum cleaner we can completely get rid of the eggs . If we try to brush them off, they will spread all over the house, but with a vacuum cleaner we can make sure to get them all out at once and without leaving any evidence.

Of course, we have to clean the vacuum bag thoroughly , putting everything inside a garbage bag that we will then take out of the house.

Let’s apply all these practical tips and put an end to this plague that is the enemy of our health!
