Homemade tricks to remove grease that is embedded in the door and glass of the oven

By Lilia

As we well know, the kitchen is one of the places in the house that is most difficult to keep super clean, in fact it requires very tedious work every day.

Specifically, one of the most used appliances is the kitchen and especially the oven, which when used every day becomes yellowish and even greasy.

Specifically, we can see this grease on the oven door, the glass and inside the oven.

The market offers numerous products to remove grease and dirt from the kitchen, but we must be careful not to scratch the glass or damage it in any way.

There is nothing better than organic products, as well as homemade tricks to leave our kitchen looking like new.

Tips for removing grease from the oven door

First of all, it is important to know that the main ingredients for carrying out this deep cleaning are baking soda and vinegar.

We will carry out the cleaning to remove the grease from the oven door and all its parts:

Clean glass with vinegar

  • We start by preparing 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 warm or hot water in a spray bottle, shake it well and spray this homemade preparation on the oven glass. We will let it sit on the surface for about 15 to 30 minutes, the longer we leave it, the better the results will be.
  • When this time has passed, with the help of a sponge we remove all the dirt and grease that has accumulated over time. The suggestion is to remove it vigorously to remove everything. If necessary, repeat the procedure as many times as necessary.

Clean glass with baking soda

When grease is deeply embedded in the kitchen, we can try another method, such as using baking soda:

  • We are going to prepare this homemade trick in a container with baking soda and a little water until we get a paste, which we apply to the entire oven door, the glass and let it act for approximately 15 minutes.
  • When the application time of the product is over, we remove it with hot water until all the dirt and traces of the homemade product are swept away. We finish by wiping it with a damp cloth and drying it with kitchen paper.

Clean the oven seals or gaskets

We all know that most kitchens have built-in thin rubber seals or gaskets around the oven door. The truth is that grease and dirt can also lodge there, so we can apply the same homemade formulas.

We will also remove the dirt with a damp cloth and dry it with kitchen paper. It is recommended to allow it to air out a little.

Remember,  handle the rubber or weather strips with extreme care so as not to peel them off, break them or even stretch them unduly.

Another suggestion is to carry out a deep cleaning on a regular basis, otherwise over time more grease will accumulate and give off an unpleasant smell.
