I tripled my tomato harvest with this trick!

By Lesia

They are a fruit, complete with seeds inside, and they grow from a flower. They contain phosphorus, potassium, folic acid, vitamin C and K in abundance. Their color is due to the presence of lycopene, lutein and zeaxanthin. They provide a high dose of antioxidants, lower blood pressure, counteract aging, are diuretics, promote good digestion, improve vision and prevent muscle cramps.

A real panacea, many people grow them in their vegetable garden, in their garden or in pots.

Sowing takes place in spring, harvesting begins between May and June and continues until October.  They love heat and light. They must be placed in a place that is well exposed to sunlight. They need constant watering, but never excessive, to avoid root rot. They require weekly fertilization , but they give a lot of satisfaction.

Precisely in this sense, there is a method of irrigation that strengthens them and makes them truly lush.

Let’s see together what it is all about!

I tripled my tomato crop by watering them like this

There is a trick to enjoying a truly extraordinary harvest of tomatoes, cucumbers or other vegetables and  it consists in using a particular liquid, enriched with nutrients beneficial to plants: rice water.  But be careful!  It is not the water used to cook rice , which, on the other hand, should be avoided at all costs. Why?! Simple, because it contains salt, in general.

That handful of coarse salt that we add to the pot when we want to boil it, for example, runs the risk of being harmful to the roots and suffocating them by adding too much sodium chloride.

So what kind of water is it?  The kind we wash rice with before cooking it.

In general, it’s a good idea to rinse your grains to remove any unnecessary starch. We put them in a fine mesh strainer and run it under the tap, dispersing a truly phenomenal mixture for our garden into the pipes!  From now on, all you have to do is place a bowl in the sink to retrieve and use it.

It is an ancient practice, very common in China: the liquid we collect, in fact, contains numerous micronutrients capable of nourishing plants and strengthening them.

Just water them once a week  with this solution as close to the roots as possible to give them a boost of energy. They will reward us with abundant harvests!
