Stuffed rustic donut: do it in 10 minutes, without kneading anything

Greedy and inviting, it belongs to those so-called empty fridge recipes. Have you left over a few slices of ham and a handful of broccoli? Excellent opportunity to reinvent them and churn out a real treat. Obviously the vegetables must already be cooked and well drained, in order to release all their flavor and give you a soft and inviting consistency. The cheese, melting at high temperatures, will reveal a stringy, truly irresistible heart.

It is prepared in just under 10 minutes and can be served as an appetizer for a dinner with old friends, as a single family dish for a dinner complete with all nutrients: carbohydrates, proteins, calcium, vitamins and mineral salts concentrated in a single mouthful of delicious goodies. And it’s perfect for a Sunday trip out of town, a picnic or a packed lunch. Convenient and versatile, it will leave you with memories of a light day and a truly healthy and genuine lunch.

Stuffed rustic donut: ingredients and preparation

Useful ingredients for this recipe:

  • 1 roll of ready-made pizza dough
  • 3 or 4 green broccoli florets (already cooked and drained well)
  • 150 grams of ham (5 large slices)
  • 150 grams of loaf for pizzas (or julienne mozzarella in an envelope)
  • 2 tablespoons of Parmesan
  • hot paprika half a teaspoon
  • extra virgin olive oil to taste
  • sale q.b.

Start preheating the oven to 170° in ventilated or 180° static mode, just long enough to finish the preparation and it will have reached temperature.

Grease and flour a 22cm diameter cake tin, then turn it upside down on the sink to remove the excess.

Put the cooked florets in a bowl and mash it with the prongs of a fork, add salt, paprika, parmesan and oil. Mix with a wooden spoon to uniform, then grate the mozzarella into julienne strips and add it to the mixture. Break up a slice of ham with your hands to reduce it into strips and mix everything well.

Unroll the ready-made pizza dough without removing it from the baking paper.

Arrange the other whole slices of ham on the surface, keeping about a centimeter away from the edges. Now in the center, make a sort of sausage with the vegetable and cheese mixture. Adjust it for length. Lift a flap of dough and bring it towards the center of the “meatloaf”; do the same with the other flap. You have to make a kind of big roll. Seal the edges well by pressing with your fingertips.

Now transfer it into the mold and bring them together until the two ends collimate in order to create the circle of the donut. Brush it with oil and sprinkle with Parmesan.

Bake it for about half an hour. Take it out when it is well golden on the surface, turn it out of the mold and serve it. It’s a masterpiece!
