Dirty mattress full of stains, the natural remedy to remove them

The mattress is an item that is used daily. Even with high-quality sheets and pillowcases, it gets dirty over time.

If you want to maintain  proper hygiene,  it is essential to clean your mattress regularly. Of course, you can ask a professional to do it for you, but  it can be quite expensive.

Clean the mattress

Cleaning a mattress and keeping it  clean and free of mites and bad odors  is important for your health.

Although it may seem incredible, a mattress that is not properly maintained and cleaned can  accumulate around one hundred million mites, bacteria and fungi  that will share the bed with us. And this can significantly affect your health.

In fact, the presence of mites, mold and bacteria is responsible for many  allergies and skin problems.

Make the bed every morning

For those who wonder if it is necessary  to make the bed every morning  , the answer is yes, but with some nuances.

According to recent studies, it is  better not to make the bed immediately after getting up.

It is recommended to wait at least two hours to do this. This way, the heat and humidity that have accumulated in the bed during the night will dissipate and we will avoid creating a dark, humid and warm paradise inside the bed, ideal for the growth of mites, fungi and others.

Another important practice to  ensure the hygiene of your mattress  is to open the windows before making the bed for at least 30 minutes, although ideally around an hour, and shake the sheets and pillows when making the bed.

You should also change your sheets every 1 to 2 weeks.

Removing blood stains from the mattress.

Of the different formulas that can be used to clean blood stains from a mattress, the best is to use  hydrogen peroxide, since it decomposes the stains.

To do this you only need a cloth or cotton soaked in hydrogen peroxide.
Then  rub the stain for a few minutes  , leave it to act until the mattress dries (no need to rinse).

It is important to remember that hydrogen peroxide has a bleaching effect, so if your mattress is colored, it is best to test it first on a small, inconspicuous area to make sure it does not corrode  the color.

Removing sweat stains with white vinegar

To apply it comfortably, it is best to  put the vinegar in a spray bottle  , then spray the vinegar on the mattress and let it sit for about five minutes.

Then sprinkle it with  baking soda  and wait for the mixture to stop sizzling and dry. Continue removing the product residue with the vacuum cleaner.

If the vinegar smell is too strong (remember that the smell disappears after a few hours), you can use a  mixture of water and lemon.

Mold stains on the mattress.

Baking soda  is very effective in removing moisture as it has drying, antiseptic and antibacterial properties.

In a plastic container add 250 grams of baking soda with 5 drops of  tea tree oil or tea tree essential oil  , one of the best natural disinfectants.

Then spread the mixture over the mattress and  let it sit for an hour.
Finally, remove any dirt that has adhered to the baking soda with the help of a vacuum cleaner.
