250 gr

Lemon

Melon jam is a tasty and original preserve , to be made during the summer, when these fruits are very sweet and juicy. It is prepared with only three ingredients : cantaloupe melon , whose pulp will give the intense orange color to this jam, sugar and lemon juice.

To make it at home, you just need to clean the melon, cut the pulp into cubes and then cook them in a thick-bottomed pan with sugar and lemon juice, until you get a firm and gelatinous consistency ; once ready, transfer the still boiling jam into sterilized glass jars, turn it upside down to create a vacuum, and then let it cool completely.

The result is a fragrant and creamy jam , perfect for filling cakes, biscuits, tarts and cheesecakes, but also to be enjoyed simply on toasted bread for a tasty breakfast or snack. If you love unusual combinations, instead, accompany it with ricotta or goat cheese, for a tasty and original aperitif.

For best results, it is important that the melon is firm, sugary and ripe enough; instead of lemon juice, you can flavor the melon jam by adding grated fresh ginger , a pinch of cinnamon powder or the seeds of a vanilla pod.
