Aloe Vera, be careful not to make certain mistakes

Aloe Vera is quite an interesting plant, which embodies  an extraordinary mix of properties  that help improve the human body both from an aesthetic and internal point of view. It is a perfect plant.

The name of this  precious medicinal plant  is associated with its qualities: on the one hand its bitter and viscous juice, and on the other hand the remarkable flow of water that it contains.

Many people today have an Aloe Vera plant at home, or on the terrace  depending on the region in which they live.

For the cultivation of Aloe Vera we will look for a place that is neither very humid nor very cold, and where the soil is porous and nutritious. For this reason, it is advisable to introduce the plant in a clay or terracotta pot because it  allows easy and fast drainage.  The best time of year to plant Aloe Vera is in autumn or spring.

Aloe vera is a fairly tolerant and low-maintenance plant.  However, many inexperienced gardeners  make a few mistakes when growing it indoors and outdoors.

The most common mistake people make is overwatering, which is why cacti and succulents are  the main reason for the death of this plant.

Also the opposite, that is, the lack of water is one of the reasons for the loss of this plant. Without water, Aloe tries to conserve the little water that its leaves still contain, so it begins to disrupt the essential processes of the plant, especially photosynthesis, and  its leaves become hard.

Propagation of Aloe Vera

Although the Aloe Vera that grows in our home grows well in the light, it is good that it is not placed under direct sunlight. Anyone who wants to reproduce the plant should never do so by cutting the leaf, as it  cannot be reproduced in this way.

For organic cultivation of this plant, it is necessary to choose the method of planting. The options that are usually used are  from a leaf or a shoot to multiply plants.

However, the best propagation of the Aloe plant should be done from one of the shoots or offspring of an adult plant. As far as it is possible to do it through seeds but these are harder to find.

It is also advisable to use a well-drained soil specific to succulents.

Choosing the right potting soil is just as important as  choosing the right container.  Aloe Vera requires well-drained soil.

If there is a commercial potting soil that is specifically formulated for cacti and succulents, it will contain the correct proportions of compostable materials, as well as other additives to aid drainage.
