Welcome Tips Here’s How to Make an Effective Mosquito Trap?

Mosquitoes have a pretty incredible potential to be a nuisance and are capable of ruining our long summer evenings and ruining our short summer nights. Here is an inexpensive and natural solution that could help you solve this problem once and for all.

Ingredients

  • 50 g brown sugar
  • 1 g of baker’s or baking yeast
  • 200 ml of lukewarm water
  • 1 plastic bottle of 1.5 liters

Instruction

  1. Use a knife and scissors to cut the bottle in half. Cut just a little above the middle to have enough room for the liquid.
  2. Boil 200 ml of water in a saucepan.
  3. Add 50g of brown sugar to the pan.
  4. When the sugar is completely dissolved in the water, remove the pan from the heat.
  5. Let the resulting mixture (syrup) cool below 30°C. You can put the syrup in the fridge to cool it more quickly.
  6. Now pour the syrup into the bottom part of the bottle.
  7. Add 1 g of brewer’s yeast on top. Do not mix.
  8. Take the top of the bottle (neck down) and fit it into the bottom part.
  9. Use tape to glue the two halves of the bottle together.
  10. Just place it in the room where there are mosquitoes to get rid of them easily.
  11. To maintain its effectiveness, change the syrup approximately every 2 weeks, or when there are no more bubbles on the surface. The disappearance of the bubbles indicates that there is no more fermentation. As a result, carbon dioxide is no longer released and no longer attracts mosquitoes.
