How to Effortlessly Clean Gas Stove Grills to Make Them Look Like New?

By Lesia

Liquids splashing on surfaces, sauce or grease splashes, dishes overflowing… the kitchen is not immune to dirt when we go to the stove. This is particularly true for gas burners, which are likely to accumulate food residue that ends up sticking because of the heat. Fortunately, there are very effective ingredients to get rid of this dirt.

For optimal maintenance of your kitchen, it is imperative to opt for regular cleaning. Hobs, grills, oven… every corner is likely to accumulate grease residue. Gas burners in particular can become dirty and be subject to malfunction. To avoid the accumulation of these residues that end up building up over time, opt for a homemade method with ingredients at hand.

How to clean gas stove burners?
If your burners take a long time to light or the flames are very weak and irregular, this may be due to the presence of dirt that clogs the gas ports. Generally, this happens when food residue drips on the walls of pots and pans, which ends up clogging the holes in the cap of your burner. Over time, this residue hardens and becomes more difficult to remove. But there is an effective trick to get rid of it.

Here are the ingredients you will need:
g of Marseille soap
2 liters of water
A used toothbrush with soft bristles
A large basin
How to proceed? Start by grating your soap to obtain flakes.
Boil the water in a saucepan and add the Marseille soap to dissolve it. This ingredient can also be used to clean and shine dirty kitchen floors.
Once the mixture is homogeneous, pour everything into a basin and add the white vinegar.
Immerse your burners in the container and let them soak for 30 minutes.
When this time is up, take your used toothbrush and scrub the stubborn stains. Let the burners soak for another 5 minutes.
Rinse with clean water, then dry your burners with a clean cloth before replacing them on the stove.
You can repeat this procedure once a week to keep your gas burners clean. If they are extremely dirty, add baking soda to your basin of soapy water, let sit for a few minutes and pour in the white vinegar. These ingredients can also help you clean the bottom of burnt pans.

How to clean very dirty grills?
If cleaning your gas burners is essential, the same goes for the grills, which must be maintained regularly. For superficial marks, a run through the dishwasher is enough to eliminate the residue. If the latter is encrusted and has accumulated for several days, it is advisable to opt for a more radical solution.

To eliminate all the residue stuck to the walls, you will need:

2 cups of white vinegar
2 tablespoons of baking soda
A half cup of coarse salt
How to proceed?
Mix the white vinegar, sodium bicarbonate and coarse salt in a basin large enough to submerge your grills.
Let them soak overnight to dissolve the dirt.
The next morning, rinse the grills with clean water to regain shiny surfaces.
If the residue is still stuck to the grids, scrub them with an abrasive sponge and a little dishwashing liquid. Cleanliness guaranteed!
