Just 1 teaspoon per litre of water and even a dry stick will take root – the old gardening TRICK!

By Lesia

Process:

  1. Mix the honey with the water. Dissolve it first in a small amount of warm water.
  2. Cut the cuttings you wish to root.
  3. Dip the cuttings into the prepared honey solution.
  4. Let the cuttings soak for 1 to 24 hours, depending on their type (longer for woody cuttings, less for herbaceous cuttings).
  5. Plant the cuttings in prepared soil, making sure to compact the soil around them and water adequately.

This method takes advantage of the natural stimulating and disinfecting properties of honey to encourage plant cuttings to root effectively.
