Why does the sewing machine break the thread? The mistake made by everyone revealed

By Lilias

Using a sewing machine is not a job for everyone, because it is certainly not as simple as it seems at first glance. But be careful, because with a little practice and some tips, you can start sewing like an expert seamstress practically from scratch.

In particular, those who are beginners  are often forced to solve a common problem such as thread breaking and thus forcing them to start the work again, losing a lot of time and a lot of patience.

Then obviously there may be other obstacles, problems and discomforts that are more or less important, but this is the most common one,  to which no woman in the world can easily find a solution.

Replacing the thread, here’s how to understand why it breaks.

If after replacing the thread  , the problem repeats itself again and again, then it is time to go in search of the reason to try to find a valid answer immediately and use the sewing machine with less anxiety and panic.

There may be many reasons why the thread may break, for example the problem may be due to the threading of the machine.  It may be that when you go to thread the thread you do something wrong that compromises it.

It is therefore best to check that all the steps have been carried out correctly and rethread the thread, following each phase carefully and carefully. If the problem persists, keep looking.

Cheap cables, this is what could be the trigger

Alternatively, it may simply be due  to a purchase that at first glance might have seemed advantageous  due to the low price but instead turns out to be a complete failure.

There are some threads that are convenient in terms of a very low price, but at the same time they are of poor quality, so they break as soon as you thread them, making the job very long and stressful.  You have to carefully weigh the pros and cons.

Even if you manage to get the job done, the seams  could end up being short-lived and not at all strong.  Therefore, to avoid further inconvenience, it is advisable not to stock up on thread bought cheaply anywhere, without really knowing the product and therefore the material.

Instead, it is better to try one first to make sure it fits you well and then proceed to purchase the others. This is the only way to save money.

Dull needle and thin thread, that’s what you have to do

Another cause could be a dull needle, which may not be suitable for the thread. For example, it may happen that the needle is too thin and therefore cuts a thread that is not strong on its own. In this case,  the advice is to check before starting whether it is ok  or whether it is skipped or not inserted in the correct seat and then start using the sewing machine.

As trivial as it sounds, this could be a cause. Lastly, it is advisable to check the bobbin compartment, which should always be clean, so there should be no dust or threads, which tend to get caught in there when the sewing machine is used frequently. The coil needs to be dusted from time to time to keep it as clean as possible.

Finally,  the threads must be pulled in the right way,  therefore the tension applied must not be too little or too much, otherwise it will break the thread before it starts.
