Turkish Lokma: the best sweet doughnuts of all time!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup of flour.
  • 3/4 cup of water.
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch.
  • 1 tablespoon of yeast
  • 1/2 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1/4 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla

Ingredients for the syrup

  • 1 1/4 cups of sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups of water
  • 3 tablespoons of honey
  • Cardamom
  • a pinch of salt

METHOD
Make the dough and let it rise for 1 hour
Syrup:
Mix water and sugar in a saucepan, let sugar dissolve, cook 5-10 minutes.
Add cardamom, salt, mix
Add honey
Heat vegetable oil for frying
Transfer the dough to a bag and press the balls together, cut with KITCHEN CISSORS
Fry until golden brown
Roll them in syrup and serve with syrup
