Having a mini pistachio tree at home is simpler than it might seem, and it is possible to achieve it by following simple steps on how to germinate a pistachio plant , and how to grow it in pots to grow indoors too.
Pistachio contains many health benefits, being rich in antioxidants such as lutein and zeaxatin, which protect eyesight, but also other vitamins, such as B6, minerals, fiber and proteins .
This excellent dried fruit is also very versatile and can be used in a myriad of different preparations, both sweet and savory. Pistachio is undoubtedly part of our culinary tradition, which is why having a mini tree at home can be very useful.
Choose a handful of pistachios, making sure they are not toasted . Remove the tough peel and place them in a glass filled with water. Leave them to moisturize overnight in a completely dark place.
The next morning, place the pistachios on dry absorbent paper and cover them with another damp paper. It is important to maintain the right humidity for the plant to grow.
After about 10 days, during which you will have made sure that the absorbent paper has always remained damp, you can plant the seeds in a pot that is deep enough to allow the roots to grow properly.
Fill the jar with soil, then make holes and insert the pistachios. The potting soil shouldn’t completely cover the sprouted seeds.
Water and put the pot in a place where it can receive sunlight. Water frequently.
