Sweet Cream Buns

Sweet cream buns are soft, lightly sweet buns with a tender texture and delicate taste. They are perfect to accompany a cup of tea or coffee.

Ingredients

  • 500g plain flour / 4 cups
  • 250 ml of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 7g yeast / 2 & quarter teaspoon
  • 1 egg
  • 50g butter
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar

Preparation

  1. Mix the milk and butter and reheat on the stove but do not boil the milk
  2. Sift the flour and salt into a bowl and make a well in the middle.
  3. Place the yeast and the egg in the well. Then sprinkle the sugar over the flour. Pour the milk mixture into the well and mix well, it should not leak.
  4. Knead the dough and place in an oiled bowl covered with a damp cloth or plastic wrap. Let rise until doubled in volume.
  5. Knead the aging to remove air from the dough after the first rise, cut into small pieces and roll into balls and place on a baking tray cover the tray with a damp cloth or plastic wrap.
  6. Let it rise again. When it doubles in size again, bake in a preheated oven. 180° FOR 25 MIN.
