How to Get Rid of Ants in the Garden and at Home?

By liliaturcin5

Did you know that the ants that we can find at the bottom of our garden or even in our homes are an evolution of the wasp?

Unfortunately, as soon as there is an invasion, we are rarely happy to welcome them into the home. There are several natural solutions to keep ants away without harming them! Find out what to do if there is a colonization of ants in the garden or house!

1 – WHITE VINEGAR AGAINST ANTS

More effective than an insecticide, white vinegar is hated by ants. It allows you to eliminate them without polluting your garden or damaging your interior. Very economical, it costs less than a euro in stores. In addition, it becomes odorless when it dries. To do this, make a mixture of half white vinegar and half water in a spray bottle and moisten the area around the windows and that’s it.

2 – PLAN LAVENDER

Plant lavender on your doorsteps and in planters on your windows. If you don’t have the soul of a gardener, mix 10 drops of lavender essential oil with a liter of water and spray this mixture on all the openings.

3 – LEMON

Cut lemon slices and place them near the entry point. The acidity of the lemon will scare away the ants.

4 – GARLIC TO SEND THEM A STRONG MESSAGE: “RUN AWAY!”

Very often, we highlight the repellent properties of garlic in the face of numerous invasive animals or which attack plants. It can also scare away ants from the garden! To do this, you will need to take a few seconds to pound it lightly.

Then, all you have to do is literally put it in the way of the ants. Seeing this condiment as a barrier to them, they will quickly go and hide elsewhere!

5 – MINT

To prevent ants from entering, you must first find out where they are going. Do not hesitate to plant mint near places in the garden regularly frequented by ants or in containers near doors. In addition to being fragrant and decorative, it will repel ants, who hate its smell.

6 – COFFEE GROUNDS, A POWERFUL PRODUCT

Once you have identified the places through which the ants pass, spread a good layer of wet coffee grounds. It won’t take long for the ants to move away.

7 – DIATOMEA EARTH

Pour silica powder or diatomaceous earth against baseboards or on the ground where ants pass.

Diatomaceous Earth is a 100% natural brown or white powder composed of micro-algae shells several million years old which helps fight insects and mainly crawling ones such as ants.
