Stimulate Hair Growth: 7 Natural Tips
At birth, if some babies are born with a lot of hair (or not at all), you should know that each of us genetically inherits a capital of hair follicles which develop and which will constitute our future hair when we arrive at maturity. Hair is a real beauty asset, a seductive asset and also a reflection of our health and our environment. So when they fall in large quantities, it triggers great distress and that’s completely normal!
No need to spend a fortune on miracle pills or serums, our grandmothers had already thought about using natural remedies. Here are 7 to try now.
1 – AN EGG MASK
A source of iron, zinc and proteins, egg yolk boosts cellular metabolism, hydrates hair follicles (small cavities where the hair bulb is reborn) and therefore stimulates hair growth.
How to achieve it? In a bowl, mix one egg yolk with two tablespoons of castor oil (ideal for strengthening hair) and one tablespoon of honey. As soon as the preparation is ready, coat your scalp with this mixture and leave for a good thirty minutes. Then rinse with lukewarm or even cold water and clean the rest with shampoo.
2 – ONION MASK
You will need: 1 onion, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
Instructions
- In a blender, blend the onion to extract its juice without leaving any pieces of flesh.
- Then mix 3 tablespoons of onion juice with the oils before applying the mixture to the roots and lengths, massaging for a few minutes.
- Leave on for at least an hour before rinsing well. Do it once a week.
3 – THE COCONUT MILK MASK
Beyond promoting the rapid growth of your hair, coconut milk hydrates it, nourishes it and reduces hair loss. It makes them stronger, shinier and more supple. It is its content of zinc, copper, potassium, iron and vitamins B3 and B6 which gives it these virtues.
To prepare this mask, you need:
- 2 tablespoons of honey.
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
- 1 egg yolk.
- 5 tablespoons of coconut milk.
Instructions
- Put all the ingredients in the same container, mix and apply as a mask.
- Leave it on for several hours if you can.
- Wash your hair with a mild shampoo.
- Do this treatment once a week for 6 weeks to see an effect on the length of your hair.
Tip: prepare two masks at once. In an airtight container, the mixture will keep for several days.
4 – GARLIC
What is this crazy idea again? Well, imagine that garlic will tone your hair and make it strong! Mix 3 crushed pods with 1 tbsp. warm olive oil. Massage your scalp with this lotion then cover your head with a plastic cap. Next, wet a towel with hot water and wring it out well. Leave it on your head for at least 30 minutes then wash your hair with an anti-hair loss shampoo.
5 – CASTOR OIL AGAINST HAIR LOSS
We no longer present it as we know its hair virtues by heart, I named: castor oil! Not that it prevents hair loss strictly speaking, but castor oil helps strengthen the hair and accelerate its growth. However, stronger and better stimulated hair… simply falls less!
Apply it generously to the scalp and leave it on overnight before shampooing thoroughly in the morning.
6 – A LITTLE MUSTARD OIL
Mustard oil is traditionally used to promote hair regrowth. Highly appreciated in India and the Maghreb for its toning and stimulating properties, it helps slow down hair loss. Rich in erucic acid, this oil helps to coat the lengths, nourish the hair and stimulates the microcirculation of the scalp, thus promoting hair regrowth.
Use it in the form of hair lotion (available in pharmacies), mask or add it to your shampoo.
Used locally on the scalp, there are no contraindications. However, for people with an atopic or allergic condition, do a test on part of your skin or scalp before use.
7 – GRAPEFRUIT ESSENTIAL OIL
Grapefruit essential oil helps slow hair loss. To use it, add 2 drops of essential oil to your dose of shampoo, as a treatment for 3 weeks.
