Cornmeal biscuits are perfect from all points of view, in fact they are not only good but also very healthy and genuine. They do not contain wheat or lactose, so they can be safely consumed by those suffering from food intolerances.

Furthermore, they are really delicious and trust me that you will always be pleased to find them on the breakfast table, not to mention that their gluttony is not to be despised even for a snack. Surely, they will also drive the little ones crazy, who will have a valid alternative to packaged products which, for obvious reasons, are less healthy and whose consumption must always be limited to small portions.

Plus, you’ll have more fun than ever preparing them. In fact, it takes just a few minutes and the procedure is very simple. So let’s see how to prepare these cookies with cornmeal!

The recipe for biscuits with cornmeal: delicious for breakfast!

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Baking time: 20 minutes
Total time: 35 minutes
Servings: about 25 biscuits
Calories: 50 per biscuit

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups fine cornmeal
  • 3 tablespoons of corn starch
  • 3 tablespoons margarine (butter is fine too)
  • 3 teaspoons stevia sweetener (or 3 tablespoons regular sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1 egg

Preparation

  1. To start, break the egg into a bowl, add the stevia sweetener (or sugar) and cornstarch and mix.
  2. Once you have obtained a smooth and creamy mixture, add the margarine (or butter), stir to make it reabsorb, add a cup of cornmeal and baking powder, mix and add another ½ cup of cornmeal.
  3. Now take a spoonful of dough at a time, roll it up with your hands, flatten it slightly and place the biscuits in a dripping pan lined with special paper.
  4. Finally put to cook in a preheated oven for 20 minutes at a temperature of 180°C , at the end you just have to serve.
