TOP 7 Ways to Use Lemon with Baking Soda for Home, Beauty and Health

By liliaturcin5

Whether it is to clean your kitchen or whiten your teeth, lemon and baking soda will be the two allies in your daily life. Discover their multiple uses.

1 – DEODORIZE YOUR… TRASH BIN

  • Yes, this one may seem surprising to you. But baking soda is a powerful natural deodorizer. And trash cans quickly bring on  bad odors , even when you take them out regularly. Cleaning your kitchen trash cans (in the plural because you are sorting your waste obviously!) will not be enough since you will be adding new  household waste every day  which can have a strong odor.
  • This is where baking soda comes in! To permanently eliminate bad odors, start by cleaning your trash can, then once dry,  sprinkle  the inside with baking soda. You can also sprinkle the inside of the bag for total effectiveness!

2 – WHITEN YELLOWED NAILS

Before your manicurist arrives, you can clean your nails with a mixture of  lemon juice and baking soda . Both ingredients have whitening power.

3 – AN ECOLOGICAL HOMEMADE SHAMPOO

  • We warned you, this powder is almost magical! She can do anything. Well, obviously we’re not asking you to wash your hair  entirely with  baking soda . We are magnanimous.
  • However, if you want to boost your  natural organic shampoo , bicarbonate is perfect. If you tend to put a lot of products on your  hair  (gel, mask, hairspray, etc.) you may need to clean it up at least once a week to rejuvenate your hair.
  • In this case, nothing could be simpler. Add a teaspoon of baking soda to your usual shampoo and  leave it on  for 4 to 5 minutes. This will save you from having to use a more chemical and aggressive shampoo.

4 – TO WASH YOUR FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

Fruits and vegetables must be completely clean before eating them. To clean them, simply use  baking soda . Sprinkle it on your fruits and vegetables, and scrub them with a brush. Rinse the food with plenty of water. The baking soda will remove any impurities covering them, including pesticide residue.

5 – CLEAN YOUR FABRIC SOFA

  • Fabric sofas invite you to relax much more than leather sofas. Fluffy and soft, they are perfect for a pampering afternoon. Unfortunately, their maintenance, due to their material, can be very complicated and require the use of   environmentally friendly chemical household products . This is where your savior comes in: baking soda.
  • For easy and above all natural maintenance of your sofa, sprinkle it with baking soda and  leave  the powder to act for a few hours, ideally overnight. After that, all you have to do is vacuum your sofa and it will be as good as new!

6 – TO CLEAN YOUR TOILET

Toilets must be cleaned daily. To do this, clean them with a mixture of lemon and baking soda. They will be fresh and will smell of citrus fruits.

7 – HOMEMADE TOOTHPASTE

To make  homemade toothpaste  you need:

  • 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda
  • 1 half tablespoon of white clay
  • 5 to 10 drops of peppermint essential oil

Preparation :

  • Run your jar under boiling water before using it and check that it is dry and clean.
  • Please note: white clay cannot be in direct contact with metal, so prefer to use a wooden chopstick or a plastic spoon for this recipe.
  • Mix coconut oil, baking soda and white clay in your container. Once the paste is smooth, add the drops of essential oils and mix again.
  • Use:   using a small spoon, place the toothpaste paste on the toothbrush or directly from the pot, take the toothpaste using the toothbrush.
