By liliaturcin5

Eggshells contain calcium and a number of other nutrients that would benefit your plants. More so, eggshell is a great way to protect your plants from pests and slugs.

This method uses water and eggshells to make an economical, nutrient-rich fertilizer for your houseplants and garden.

Ingredients

  • Eggshells
  • Unsalted cooking water for vegetables
  • Utensils
  • Watering can
  • A large saucepan or pot

Instructions

  1. In a pot or large saucepan, bring unsalted water to a boil and cook your vegetables that you will reserve for your meals. At the end of cooking, keep the water from the vegetables.
  2. Roughly break egg shells into pieces and add them to the still hot water. Reserve.
  3. Once the water has cooled, leave to macerate for several more hours.
  4. All you have to do is water your plants or simply the soil in your garden to enrich it. To water your garden, use a rain watering can.
  5. Repeat watering 4 weeks later.
