5 Tips to Make the Bathroom Shine

By liliaturcin5

Keeping your bathroom spotless can seem like an almost impossible challenge. Continuous use, humidity, limescale and mold sometimes complicate things.

However, with a few simple routines you will see that everything will be easier and when the time comes for deep cleaning it will be much less difficult to do so.

1 – CLEAN THE BATHTUB AND SHOWER

To properly clean your bathtub or shower and make all the surfaces shine, mix one part dishwashing liquid and one part vinegar in a small basin. Then rinse the walls of your shower and rub them with a sponge soaked in your new mixture.

2 – CLEAN FAUCETS

To remove stains from the faucet, wipe with a cloth dampened with water and a little baking soda. Be aware, however, that hard water causes traces on the faucets and on the shower screens. A water softener makes it possible to define the hardness of the water but also to soften it. This way, you will have fewer traces of limescale in the bathroom.

3 – THE SHOWER HEAD

Your shower head is likely covered in all the minerals found in the water, such as fluoride and limescale.  You can just get rid of it.  All you need is white vinegar and a plastic bag.

Fill the bag with vinegar and immerse the shower head inside.  Seal the bag tightly with a rubber band and let sit for an hour or two.

Then, remove the bag and rinse off the vinegar. Finally, wipe the knob with a clean cloth.

4 – CLEAN THE TILE JOINTS

Tile joints that turn black, there is nothing more unsightly. Here’s a grandmother’s tip that should help you recover them: Dip half a lemon in coarse salt. Rub your bathroom grout directly with this half lemon. Leave it on for a good quarter of an hour and rinse with clean water.

5 – MAKE YOUR MIRROR SHINE

The mirror, like the bathtub, is subject to limescale, but above all to the most stubborn stains of daily dirt. So the first tip given is to use warm white vinegar and then scrub with a cloth. If the stains do not come off easily, it is recommended to rub onion on them, then start again with alcohol vinegar.

After rinsing everything, don’t forget to pour in some window cleaner, then wipe with newspaper or a microfiber cloth.
