Canned lentils: here are some easy-to-make recipes

The 5 recipes are:

  • Lentil cream

Ingredients for 2 people :

  • 1 liter of water or broth
  • 2 medium potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1 white onion
  • 50ml cream or coconut milk (optional)
  • 1 pinch of curry
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • Fresh coriander to taste
  • Salt and pepper as needed
  • 2 stalks of celery
  • 1 pot of lentils

Procedure:

First of all you have to remove the peel of the potatoes and then cut them into pieces together with the onion. Then put everything in a saucepan, together with the celery and minced garlic, and let it brown, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes. After the necessary time, add the lentils and the water and then let it boil for 10 minutes. When the ingredients appear soft you must necessarily blend all the result. Once you have obtained a homogeneous cream, add the condiments indicated above and cook for another 7 minutes. Finally, you just have to pour in the cream and decorate with chopped coriander before serving.

  • Falafel

Ingredients for 2 people :

  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • ½ bunch of parsley
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 onion
  • (optional) 1 tablespoon tahini
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 pinch of pepper
  • 1 jar of lentils

Procedure:

You need to take a blender and enter garlic, parsley and onion into it. Once blended until small pieces are obtained, add the previously drained lentils and mix until everything is homogeneous. Then transfer everything into a bowl to be able to add the rest of the ingredients indicated above. Finally divide the dough into small pieces in order to obtain balls and then fry them in boiling oil for 5 minutes or until they are golden brown.

  • Hamburger

Ingredients for 2 people :

  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of sweet paprika
  • 3 tablespoons of fresh parsley
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • Salt and pepper as needed
  • 5 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
  • 1 jar of lentils

Procedure:

Start by draining the lentils well and then dry them with kitchen paper and then mash them with a fork in a large bowl. After that you need to add finely chopped garlic, parsley and spices. Add the breadcrumbs and start mixing the ingredients to make everything homogeneous. Then make the burgers and then grill them on a pan containing hot oil. When they are a little golden you can serve them at the table.

  • Lentil and tofu salad

Ingredients for 2 people :

  • 200 gr of hard tofu
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • ½ bunch of parsley
  • 4 tablespoons of white vinegar
  • Olive oil as needed
  • Salt and pepper as needed
  • 1 large jar of lentils

Procedure:

First you have to drain the lentils while in a separate bowl you have to mix the mustard, vinegar and oil. Then you just have to add the lentils and mix well and then add the diced tofu. Also add the finely chopped parsley and season the result with pepper and salt. Finally, let the dish rest for no less than 30 minutes in the fridge and then taste it.

  • Lentil soup

Ingredients for 6 people :

  • 2 cans of peeled tomatoes
  • 100 g of small pasta
  • 2 become vegetali
  • Olive oil as needed
  • Just enough water
  • 4 carrots
  • Salt just enough
  • 4 large potatoes
  • 400 g of lentils

Procedure:

Pour the lentils into a pot. Then pour in the water to cover all the lentils and then add the vegetables cut into small pieces, the stock cubes and the oil. Place the pot on the stove and let it cook for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally and add water if necessary. After the indicated time you just have to add the pasta and let it cook to mix everything. Obviously fix the salt and then serve at the table.
