DIY dietary chocolates: a super tempting recipe to try!

And who said that if you crave chocolates, you have to buy them? The following recipe is proven proof of this. Among other things, it is also designed to be dietetic, so for the better.

But let’s look at it more closely.

The ingredients

The ingredients that we have to line up are few, and they are these:

50 g of dark chocolate
16 dried apricots
a teaspoon of vegetable oil
25 g of walnuts plus walnuts to fill the apricots

The preparation

We called them chocolates, but we could also call them chocolate drowned candies. Whatever you decide to call them one thing is sure though, these treats are yummy. And they are done in a short time too.

The first thing to do is pit the dried apricots. Then, very delicately, we put a walnut inside each one, in a sort of rather unusual and amusing vegetable “transplant”. Now we place these apricots stuffed with walnuts on a plate and in the meantime we take care of other things.

On a pastry board, chop the walnuts: with a knife, and rather fine (they should be around 25 grams). Now let’s take a boule and break the dark chocolate into it. Once this is done, we melt it in a bain-marie and then we pour it into a bowl.

Then we pour in the vegetable oil and mix well with a spoon to incorporate everything. Then add the chopped walnuts and mix again vigorously until you get a nice uniform compound.

At this point we turn back to our apricots: what we have to do is dip them quickly in the chocolate. Then we place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

At this point we just have to put the pan in the fridge until the chocolate hardens completely.

Then all that remains is to bring it to the table.
