Vinegar is the trick to softer towels, whiter laundry, and better washes

By liliaturcin5

You don’t always need to use harsh chemicals to maintain your home or do your laundry. For this reason, white vinegar is often the natural and ecological solution to achieve this goal. This is good since we will discover the many advantages it offers as a laundry product.

In addition to its use for washing machine maintenance, white vinegar has many benefits as a laundry solution. In addition to  having antibacterial and stain-removing properties  , it is an ecological and economical product. Here are all the reasons to use it as part of your laundry needs.

WHITE VINEGAR

Why use vinegar in your laundry?

– Acts against soap accumulation

A buildup of soap scum can cause white or yellow stains and discolor dark-colored clothing. To avoid yellowing and the appearance of scratches  , immerse the laundry in a basin made up of a cup of white vinegar diluted in 3.5L of water. Then go to the washing machine.

– Softens your towels

Vinegar is an excellent product  for disintegrating detergent residues. It is therefore a good solution for softening your clothes or towels and presents itself as an interesting substitute for softeners on the market. You can make your clothes look like new by simply adding half a cup of vinegar to your washing machine’s fabric softener dispenser.

– Does not stain clothes

By diluting white vinegar,  its acidity will not stain your clothes  . Dilute ½ cup of vinegar in the fabric softener compartment of your washing machine.

Furthermore, white vinegar allows you to obtain a hypoallergenic detergent. It is therefore an ideal solution if you have sensitive skin. Plus, as an eco-friendly product, it’s a great alternative to environmentally harmful laundry detergents.

Removes stains

As a stain remover, white vinegar is great for removing dirt, food residue,  and red wine stains  . To take advantage of this ability, dilute 200 ml of white vinegar in a liter of water then pour the solution into a spray bottle. Apply it directly to the stain  before putting the item back in the washing machine.

Deodorizes

Whether it’s sweat, tobacco, or pet odors, these odors can quickly disappear with vinegar. All you need to do is add 1/2 cup to your laundry to eliminate bad odors. To combine business with pleasure,  perfume your laundry by adding a few drops of essential oil. You should also know that this natural product can also be used  to eliminate pet hair on clothes.

It is an alternative to bleach

Like bleach, white vinegar whitens clothes by removing traces of dirt  without posing a risk to sensitive skin. To use it, add half a cup of white vinegar to the wash cycle. Another method is to combine half a cup of vinegar, another half cup of lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon of baking soda in a bowl of warm water. Soak your laundry in the basin overnight before putting it in the washing machine the next day.

Prevents discoloration

Clothes  can fade over time  or due to factors such as the use of detergents or simply sunlight. To prevent this with white vinegar, just add 1/2 cup to your laundry.

Cleans the washing machine

Many of us tend to neglect machine maintenance under the pretext that it cleans itself during wash cycles. An erroneous belief given that over time the machine becomes a hotbed of limescale, dirt left by clothing and bacteria.

To use it this way,  run the washer on empty  by pouring hot water and a cup of vinegar into it. This will reduce the buildup of lint and soap scum  . Plus, white vinegar is just as life-saving for other appliances.

It should be noted that although white vinegar is rarely associated with allergy risk, its use may affect some of you. Hence the importance of diluting it in water.
