Our homes are, without a doubt, the place where we feel best. Although we don’t always spend as much time there as we would like, they are still our personal refuge, where we can rest after difficult days.

That’s why we often try to make them more and more “in our image,” whether through furniture, decorations, and even the people we invite to spend time with us.

The more we grow, the more we realize how good we can feel at home.

Especially since this pandemic, many of us have started to spend more time at home, interest in taking care of your home has started to increase, because we want to feel good at home.

And one of the favorite things that many people love when it comes to personalizing their homes is plants, and there is a reason for that. Plants bring a little nature to our homes, making them more beautiful, welcoming and comfortable, thus contributing to the decoration and the feeling of well-being  .

If you are a plant lover and are always looking for creative ways to integrate them into your environment, today we bring you a very interesting tutorial: planting mint in a pot.

When you plant mint in small pots, you can place it in different places and spread its refreshing smell throughout the house.

Here’s how to plant mint in a pot. Follow these steps:

  • Choose the mint of your preference, since some can also be used in culinary preparations. (There are currently 18 species of mints)
  • You can plant it directly in the pot, making sure there are drainage holes in the bottom.
  • Place it in a well-lit area, preferably in a temperate climate. Protect it from the wind.
  • Water mint early in the morning and/or at the end of the day. When it is very hot, water more during the day. Keep the soil moist, including the roots, especially as the plant grows.

Mint production will begin about 40 days after planting and, in most cases, your plants will already be well developed. This will be the period of the most intense aromas and flavors, and the time to make a cut 5 cm from the ground, with sharp scissors, freeing the plant of dead leaves and old branches.

By following these tips, you will have a much more fragrant and fresh home all year round!
