Here we will learn an easy and effective technique to grow dwarf lemon, orange, tangerine and other fruit trees directly in pots, and without having to buy lemons again!

So get ready to watch the following video from Amor Por El Huerto , who will teach you the secret that will transform your home into a citrus garden:

This revolutionary method requires just a few basic items that you’re sure to find at home. You will need a healthy branch from a vigorous fruit tree, water, a plastic bottle, a cotton cloth and you’re done!

The technique involves leaving a portion of cotton cloth in contact with water in a plastic bottle, creating an ideal environment to stimulate root growth on selected branches. Below we will tell you in detail.

How to plant lemons in a pot

  1. Branch Selection: Look for a branch approximately 18 centimeters long from an already producing fruit tree, ensuring that it has flowers or fruit to guarantee quick results.
  2. Cutting and Preparation: Use disinfected scissors to cut the selected branch. Carefully remove the peel and heal the wound with ash or lime, ensuring optimal prevention against possible diseases.
  3. Bottle Preparation: Cut the bottle in half and use the bottom. Place a cotton cloth inside, allowing part of it to come into contact with the water.
  4. Substrate Mixture: Combine soil and sand to create a perfect substrate that stimulates root growth. Fill the top of the bottle with this mixture.
  5. Planting: Plant the selected branch in the substrate, making sure the cotton rag remains in contact with the water in the bottle. This mini-greenhouse will keep your cutting constantly hydrated.
  6. Transplant: After 30 days, transplant the cutting into a pot of at least 20 liters with an enriched substrate and organic nutrients.

Harvest and Aftercare

After a year, you will be able to enjoy beautiful dwarf trees loaded with fruits. Remember to care for them with additional nutrients and provide them with a suitable environment to ensure continued production.

This method is not only applicable to lemons, but also works for a wide variety of fruit trees. Follow these simple steps, and you’ll soon have your own citrus garden at home. So get to work and enjoy the magic of growing your own lemons and more!
