We need:
5 heaped spoons of finely chopped nettle (leaves) – if not fresh, can be dried
100 g unsalted lard
Preparation:
Add the nettles to the melted unsalted lard and let it simmer until it becomes a paste (similar to a classic custard).
Apply to the skin several times a day.
Before applying, it is good to wipe the affected area with a cotton pad soaked in lukewarm chamomile tea.
Heals wounds, bruises, chapped or otherwise damaged skin.
The second recipe
250 g of coconut oil is dissolved in a water bath and sprinkled with three handfuls of fresh nettle leaves, washed and finely chopped.
Let the liquid simmer until it thickens.
Remove the pot from the heat and let the nettles in the coconut oil sit until the next day.
Then rewarm it in a water bath and strain the ointment through a cloth into a clean jar.
If you want a warming salve, it is advisable to add hot pepper to the hot fat.
