By Lilia

Calendula oil – a first aid that is good to have at home

Calendula is highly valued for its healing properties.

It stimulates blood circulation, helps to treat purulent wounds and ulcers, soothes inflammatory processes on the skin, erases scars on the skin, heals burns, especially those from excessive exposure to the sun.

It cleans oily and problematic skin, nourishes dry and eczema-prone skin, treats fungal skin diseases, is used for problems with veins and hemorrhoids and for gynecological problems.

Due to the presence of provitamin A, it also helps with psoriasis. It is really very useful to have it at home. You can easily make homemade butter.

Calendula oil for wounds, lichen, eczema, impetigo /bacterial skin infection/, hemorrhoids, burns, purulent ulcers and fungal skin diseases.

Recipe:

Pick the marigold flowers shortly before noon when the sun is at its strongest, pick the open marigold flowers and a few leaves.

Cut the flowers and leaves with scissors and put everything together in a wide jar.

Pour cold-pressed olive oil, sunflower, sesame or pumpkin oil, the oil should cover the cut mass at least 3 cm.

Close the jar tightly and place in a warm or sunny place. The ratio of calendula and oil is 1:1, i.e. a cup of oil per cup of calendula flowers.

The jar should sit in the sun for 4 to 5 weeks. Shake almost daily.

After the indicated period, strain the oil through sterile gauze and store it in a dark glass sterile bottle in a dark and cool place, preferably in a refrigerator.

Caution: Calendula oil can oxidize easily if not stored properly.

Every time you use it, make sure that it has not changed color or faded, because then it has lost its healing properties. Therefore, it is best to store it in the refrigerator.

Calendula oil can be drunk with a sensitive stomach, the presence of gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, two tablespoons a day before meals. The oil must be fresh.
