Lilac syrup

We need:

20 stalks of lilac (it is best if the flowers are not fully bloomed, then the syrup is best)

1 liter of water

750 g -1 kg of sugar (you can also use sugar cane syrup)

30 g citric acid

1 lemon thoroughly washed and cut into slices

Preparation:

We only need the flowers – we just have to remove them from the branches – it’s laborious, but worth it.

Put the water with the sugar on the fire – let it boil and cook on low heat for about 5 minutes.

Then add citric acid and sliced lemon.

Prepare a 3 liter container, put the flowers in it and cover them with the sugar syrup.

Let it stand for 3 days in a cool room, then strain and pour into clean containers.

Store in a cool place.

Diluted with sparkling water, it tastes like spring on hot summer days.
