How to grow avocados at home for a fruit bounty
Avocados are undoubtedly one of the most nutrient-dense and beneficial fruits. Their consumption is associated with various health benefits, such as a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer prevention, improved digestion and weight loss.
Here’s a simple guide on how to grow avocados at home, save money, and ensure a supply of completely natural and organic avocados.
Prepare the avocado seed:
Take a clean avocado seed and insert four toothpicks into it at equal distances from each other.
Dip the seed into 3 centimeters of water.
Place the jar in a warm place with direct sunlight.
Root growth:
The root growth takes between 2 and 8 weeks.
Once it is about 15 cm long, it will become visible and you should cut it to 8 cm.
After a few days, the leaves will start to sprout.
Planting in soil:
Fill a sufficiently large pot with nutrient-rich soil and make a hole in the middle.
Plant the seed, leaving half of it above the soil.
Sunlight and watering:
Place the pot in a sunny location and water it daily.
Be patient, as it may take several years for the tree to bear fruit.
