Here’s how to plant upside down, the new way to grow plants.

By Lesia

Plant our plants upside down? This is an intriguing and unusual idea, but it’s a trend that’s starting to gain momentum. Inverted pots do not take up space on the floor or windowsill. Plus, when hung from the ceiling, they add a unique and charming touch to the room. With the help of just one pot, you can transform your entire home!

Rest assured that the maintenance of plants in inverted pots is no different from that which we usually use for plants in standard pots.

A big advantage? With the inverted pots you can mix the fertilizer with water and the plants can be watered using the sprinkler irrigation system. That is, the water in these pots does not evaporate as quickly as in conventional pots, so the fertilizer they contain remains available for the plant for longer.

As an added benefit, inverted hanging planters can be used to grow almost any plant.

Upside Down Planting: This new way of growing plants has become very popular!

From experience, gardeners know well that it is not easy to grow a plant indoors and it always remains lush. However, even the least experienced can begin this adventure. You still need to leave time for regular maintenance of these houseplants!

Plant an Upside Down Pothos

A fabulous indoor plant that can reach 1 metre in length, Pothos, also nicknamed “devil’s ivy”, always makes a splash in a home with its heart-shaped leaves and bright green. It needs plenty of light, without being directly exposed to the sun. To quickly turn your Pothos into a climbing plant, simply follow the steps described below.

First stage

The first thing to do is to take a plastic flower pot and thread a thread, possibly nylon, through each hole you find at the bottom. This way you can hang it wherever you want. After tying the threads in knots, try to create a fairly wide hole in the center of the base of the vase. Then, just below the rim of the pot, try to make holes around the entire circumference.

Second step

Then add soil to the pot. When you fill more than half of the pot, carefully place the plant’s roots. Then cover the roots by adding soil to completely envelop them.

Third step

Add a patch made from a burlap sack to the soil and insert wooden sticks into the holes you made earlier along the edge of the vase. Thanks to the nylon threads, you can now hang the plant in a conducive and suitable environment for it to flower and grow serenely.

How to water your climbing plant?

Watering is probably the easiest part. This task is quick and easy. To water your plant, simply insert the neck of a bottle into the hole you created in the center of the base of your plastic pot. In this way, the latter will act as a funnel from which you can safely water your Pothos.
