The brewing process is quite simple, but requires some subtleties. Quite  often, people use the classic recipe for making tea, which uses only water and raw materials for the brew.

4-5 stalks of cherries are broken into small pieces of 1 cm each, poured with 0.5 l of boiling water and left to simmer over low heat for 15 minutes. The drink is then left to  stand for several hours. 

It should acquire a rich, reddish-brown color and a wonderful aroma with delicate notes of almonds. It is useful to add a little honey or  cinnamon to this drink, which will add a sweet and pleasant aroma.

For the fairer sex, folk healers recommend drinking tea, which is prepared as follows: 20 stalks are poured with 2 liters of cold water, boiled for 5 minutes, then left for  another 60 minutes.

This drink helps to lose a few extra pounds, has a beneficial effect on a woman’s reproductive organs, and also prevents and stops the development of fibroids. 

Raw materials can be boiled up to three times, after which they lose their useful properties.

Characteristics of tea consumption

Cherry twig tea is an excellent remedy for the treatment and prevention of various diseases.

However, for each disease there are special norms of consumption of the drink:

With myoma and endometriosis . It is recommended to drink one glass no more than three times a day.

With inflammation of the joints. In the presence of inflammatory processes in the joints, arthritis should drink ¼ cup of tea daily, no more than 4 times a day.

With diabetes. To normalize blood sugar levels, to improve the condition of diabetes, you need to drink 1 teacup up to 5 times a day for 10 days.

With uterine bleeding. Since the drink has an anti-inflammatory effect, has a beneficial effect on hematopoiesis, it is recommended for use in uterine bleeding. In case of illness,  drink one glass three times a day, within two days.

Cherry branches are successfully used not only for preparing an aromatic and vitaminized drink, but also in the field of cosmetology and folk medicine.

In medicine

Folk medicine offers a large number of recipes based on raw materials from cherry twigs.

Before using the means prepared on the basis of cherry twigs for medical purposes, you should consult an experienced doctor.

In particular, decoctions, teas and tinctures are taken orally for therapy:

hypertension to normalize blood pressure;

heart and kidney diseases that cause edema;

colds as an antipyretic and anti-inflammatory;

uterine fibroids and uterine bleeding;

acute diarrhea and intestinal atony;

inflammatory processes in the joints;

arthritis and osteoarthritis.

The decoction of twigs is an excellent tonic that increases the body’s defenses, strengthens the immune system, and prevents the development of avitaminosis.

Vaginal washing is also practiced using a weakly concentrated infusion of cherry twigs. It allows you to eliminate inflammatory processes, stop the reproduction of  pathogens.

The decoction is used to rinse the mouth for stomatitis and thrush, to strengthen the gums, to eliminate bleeding.

In cosmetology

Potions and infusions of cherries are no less successful in cosmetology.

Due to the high content of ascorbic acid, vitamins A and E, cherry twigs are excellent for removing many cosmetic defects:

they tighten the epidermis, make it more elastic and resistant, have a lifting effect;

tones the skin;

make the relief of the face denser;

get rid of inflammation, acne, redness, irritation;

removes oiliness of the skin, promotes the normalization of the water balance;

reduction of facial wrinkles.

A decoction or infusion of raw cherries is useful for rinsing the hair after washing. This procedure gives the hair tenderness, gives it an unsurpassed shine and silky softness. 

Tea made from twigs is also frozen, and ice is used in the morning for toning and elasticity of the skin.

Collection and storage of twigs

To make a medicinal drink from cherry twigs, you must first stock up on quality raw materials.

Choose thin young twigs, about 10 cm long, which are carefully  cut with a sharp, disinfected knife or scissors.

Cut raw materials should be well washed, dried in a well-ventilated room, having previously hung on the rope with clean bouquets of 10-15 pieces. 

The branches are  recommended to be collected in the last weeks of April-May, i.e. during the swelling of the buds on the tree.

When the branches are well dried, they are placed in paper bags and stored in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. 

Properly collected raw materials  can be used to prepare potions, teas and infusions for a year.

Contraindications and possible harm

Since tea from cherry twigs is characterized as a healing agent, it has a number of contraindications.

You should refrain from using the product if:

gastritis or peptic ulcer;

any diseases of the internal organs in the acute phase;

increased stomach acidity;

children under three years of age.

Drinks should be consumed with caution in children over 3 years old, pregnant and lactating women, people prone to allergic reactions. Individual intolerance to the product is also possible.

Cherry twigs, as a healing agent, have been used since ancient times. It has a tonic, rejuvenating, anti-inflammatory, diuretic and antipyretic effect, which makes it  successfully used for the treatment of various diseases.
