How to clean stainless steel kitchen appliances and other appliances

By Lilia

When cleaning stainless steel, many people clean it with just detergent and water. This is a mistake because it will not make it look as it should, and it can also get stained if we do it wrong.

For this material, there are certain home methods that help us clean the stainless steel and get it back to the shine it had when we bought it.

We recommend: How to clean the screen of your TV, mobile phone, tablet and notebook (without scratching it)

This method that I am going to tell you about below is done with products that you probably have at home. If you don’t have them, don’t worry because they are very easy to obtain at any market in your area.

How to clean stainless steel kitchen

To clean the stainless steel in your kitchen, you will need:

  • 1 cup of warm water
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. Dish detergent
  • Soft cloth rags
  • Sprayer

Procedure

1- In a container, put the vinegar and water together with the tbsp. of dish detergent. Mix well for a few minutes and then put everything in a spray bottle.

2- Spray the stainless steel appliance with this mixture and quickly rub it with a slightly damp cloth. The vast majority of this material has small scratches on the surface. It is important to clean where they go, these can be horizontal or vertical.

3- After this cleaning, I recommend wiping it with a dry, soft cloth to give it a nice shine.

How to clean stained stainless steel

This method is for removing stains from stainless steel. One pass may not remove the stain completely, so we recommend that you repeat this procedure until the surface is clean and free of stains.

Procedure

Note: For this method, we will only need baking soda and the mixture we made earlier.

1- On a dry cloth, we put a good amount of baking soda . To this, we sprinkle it with the mixture that we made previously until it forms a paste.

2- We pass the cloth with the paste over the steel surface. We clean following the lines as we did before (emphasizing the stains).

3- Since it contains baking soda, we have to let it sit for about 5 minutes so that it acts on the stain.

4- After some time, remove this paste with a slightly damp cloth.

5- Then with a dry cloth, we polish the stainless steel so that it is shiny and impeccable.
