8 Grandma’s Tips to Get Rid of Slugs

By Lesia

1) Harvest manually: Pick lumachas by hand or use objects such as grapefruit halves, wooden boards or tiles to attract them and then collect them.

2) Attract them with beer or food: Place a container of beer near the affected plants to attract them and then get rid of them. You can also use fresh herbs, potato slices or bran for this purpose.

3) Use repellent powders: Sprinkle ground coffee around the plants, since lumachas do not tolerate caffeine. Another option is to use cornstarch or salt in moderate amounts to repel them, although the latter is an extreme measure and should be used with caution.

Remember to water in the morning to prevent the soil from becoming wet, which attracts lumachas. These strategies are effective and environmentally friendly, eliminating the need for pesticides. Enjoy a healthy, pest-free garden!
