How to propagate roses from the stem to dozens of roses.

Rose Propagation with Cuttings:

  1. Selection of cuttings:
  • Choose semi-ripe stems 6 to 10 millimeters thick and 15 to 20 centimeters long with small buds emerging.
  1. Preparation of cuttings:
  • Make an angled cut at the top of the stem and a clean horizontal cut at the base.
  • Remove the leaves and clean the stem. Optionally, you can remove some of the bottom crust.
  1. Use of rooting hormones:
  • Apply rooting hormones to stimulate new root growth.

Planting rose stems:

  1. Reproduction in potatoes:
  • Insert the stems into potatoes and maintain adequate humidity. After root development, transplant into potting soil.
  1. Reproduction in water:
  • Place the stems in water with rooting hormones. Use a mixture of peat moss, vermiculite and perlite to absorb moisture.
  1. Propagation in potting soil:
  • Fill a pot with soil and peat. Place stems, moisten and apply rooting hormones. In hot weather, cover the pot and water regularly.
