Lemon peels on the windowsill: solve a common problem in the house

By Lesia

For example, there are those who use lemon peels to scare away animals, particularly from the windows of the house,  when they try to sneak in.

Flies are annoying to everyone, they bring dirt into the house, they keep buzzing around people and food,  which is quite irritating.

When you are in the kitchen you often need clean air, especially if you are cooking or especially frying, but you end up letting yourself be intimidated or intimidated by them. We are very afraid of them coming into the house, because then getting them out is practically impossible.

Some tips to keep flies away from your home

What you need to do  is not give up  and not give up completely, which is why first of all it is necessary to open the kitchen window or the bedroom window and then take advantage of the infallible natural remedies that will allow you to scare away flies without necessarily having to resort to chemicals and pesticides that are bad for your health.

In the meantime,  we should all keep an eye on fruits and vegetables  because they are the first to rot and if we don’t notice, it’s a problem. These easily attract flies and more. Then secondly, if you love incense, you can use lavender, lemongrass or geranium incense which repel flies.

Cloves are also particularly annoying to them, but lemon wedges or lemon peel are no different.

How to get rid of flies in the kitchen in a few steps with a lemon and a little vinegar

To get rid of flies in the kitchen and therefore prevent them from entering through the window, cut the lemon,  remove the peel  and store it in a tightly sealed napkin. Then place it on the kitchen windowsill, the smell, although not strong and heavy, will keep them away.

Alternatively, you can prepare a nice trap for them with 4 tablespoons of vinegar, one of liquid soap, a plastic bottle and a pair of scissors. Then, cut the neck of the bottle and  place it inside the bottle upside down.

Pour in the vinegar and soap, shake everything up, and then place the obviously open bottle on the windowsill. The flies, or whatever other animals are attracted to them, will go to the window and fall inside,  unable to get out.

Otherwise, you can prepare another trap with 100 g of sugar, a litre of milk and 50 g of ground pepper. Cook everything on a low heat for at least ten minutes, then pour it into a deep plate. The flies will rest on top until they stick.

But it doesn’t end here, because with the same ease and speed you can create a fantastic insecticide to use for cleaning  windowsills or large windows.

Here’s how to prepare it: macerate fresh mint leaves in a jar with vinegar inside and leave them to macerate for 7 days. Once the required time has passed, pour the solution into a bottle, preferably with a spray bottle, and spray it onto the glass.

Thanks to the solution, not only will your windows become clean, clear and shiny thanks to the use of vinegar, but it will also keep flies and all other insects away from your house for a long time. When the effect of the napkin with lemon peels and window liquid starts to fade, you can do it all over again.
