LIVER RECIPE.
- INGREDIENTS FOR THE RECIPE.
- 500 grams of beef liver, thinly sliced.
- 2 large onions, cut into slices.
- 2 cloves of garlic, chopped.
- 1 cup of milk (optional, to soak the liver).
- Salt and pepper to taste.
- Olive oil, for cooking.
- Juice of 1 lemon.
- Fresh parsley, chopped (to decorate).
- PREPARATION MODE.
- If you decide to soak the liver, place it in a bowl with the milk for 30 minutes.
- This will help soften it and reduce its strong flavor.
- Then, drain it and dry it well.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the liver slices to the pan and cook for a few minutes until golden on both sides.
- Remove the liver from the pan and set it aside.
- In the same pan, add the onions and garlic.
- Sauté until tender and golden.
- Add the liver back to the pan with the onions.
- Add salt, pepper and lemon juice.
- Cook over medium heat for a few more minutes, until the liver is well cooked.
- Serve the liver with onions hot, decorated with fresh parsley.
- Accompany this dish with white rice, mashed potatoes or tortillas for a complete meal.
- If you prefer a milder flavor, soak the liver in vinegar water for a few minutes before cooking.
- For a special touch, you can add a little white wine during cooking.
