LIVER RECIPE.

  • INGREDIENTS FOR THE RECIPE.
  • 500 grams of beef liver, thinly sliced.
  • 2 large onions, cut into slices.
  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped.
  • 1 cup of milk (optional, to soak the liver).
  • Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Olive oil, for cooking.
  • Juice of 1 lemon.
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (to decorate).
  • PREPARATION MODE.
  • If you decide to soak the liver, place it in a bowl with the milk for 30 minutes.
  • This will help soften it and reduce its strong flavor.
  • Then, drain it and dry it well.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the liver slices to the pan and cook for a few minutes until golden on both sides.
  • Remove the liver from the pan and set it aside.
  • In the same pan, add the onions and garlic.
  • Sauté until tender and golden.
  • Add the liver back to the pan with the onions.
  • Add salt, pepper and lemon juice.
  • Cook over medium heat for a few more minutes, until the liver is well cooked.
  • Serve the liver with onions hot, decorated with fresh parsley.
  • Accompany this dish with white rice, mashed potatoes or tortillas for a complete meal.
  • If you prefer a milder flavor, soak the liver in vinegar water for a few minutes before cooking.
  • For a special touch, you can add a little white wine during cooking.
