Italian gastronomy is known for its variety and exquisite flavors. Today, I bring you an Italian recipe adapted to our local ingredients, perfect to enjoy on any occasion.

This cake takes just 15 minutes to prepare and the result is incredibly delicious. Lets go cook!

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • a pinch of salt
  • 200 grams of sugar
  • 120 ml of oil
  • 120 ml natural yogurt
  • 300 grams of flour
  • 8 grams of baking powder
  • 300 grams of ricotta
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 egg

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a 30-20 cm diameter mold.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the 4 eggs with a pinch of salt until foamy.
  3. Add the 200 grams of sugar and continue beating until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.
  4. Add the 120 ml of oil and the 120 ml of natural yogurt, beating until well combined.
  5. Sift together the 300 grams of flour and 8 grams of baking powder, and add them to the wet mixture. Mix gently until you obtain a uniform dough.
  6. Pour the cake mixture into the prepared pan, smoothing the surface with a spatula.
  7. In another bowl, mix the 300 grams of ricotta with the 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar and 1 egg until you obtain a smooth cream.
  8. Place the ricotta mixture in a pastry bag and make diagonal lines on the cake batter.
  9. Place in the oven and cook at 180°C for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before removing it from the pan and letting it cool completely on a rack.

  • You can add lemon or orange zest to the cake mixture to give it a citrus touch.
