GREEN SAUCE.

  • INGREDIENTS FOR THE RECIPE.
  • 500 g green tomatillos (green tomatoes), peeled and washed.
  • 1 white onion, cut into quarters.
  • 2 cloves of garlic.
  • 1 green chile (jalapeño or serrano), to taste (optional for spiciness).
  • A handful of fresh cilantro.
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
  • Salt to taste.
  • PREPARATION MODE.
  • Preparation of Tomatillos.
  • Remove the husks from the green tomatillos and wash them well to remove any dirt residue.
  • Cooking of the Ingredients.
  • Place the peeled green tomatillos in a pot with enough water to cover them.
  • Bring to a boil and cook over medium-high heat until the tomatillos change color and turn olive green, this should take 6 to 8 minutes.
