Exquisite marinated wings

Ingredients

6 guajillo chiles
1 cup orange juice
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon honey
1/4 stick of achiote
15 chicken wings, cleaned and feathered
Salt and pepper
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Oil for frying

Preparation

  1. SOAK the chiles in boiling water, let them soften and remove the stem, seeds and veins.
  2. BLEND the chiles with the achiote, vinegar, honey, orange juice; season with salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder.
  3. POUR the marinade into a container and place the wings, stir until they are covered and let them marinate in the refrigerator for half an hour.
  4. PUT a little oil in a saucepan, add the wings and fry until lightly browned.
  5. LINE a baking sheet with wax paper, spread out the wings and bake for 20 minutes or until perfectly cooked.

Skip step 5 by pre-cooking the wings in boiling water before marinating them.
