How to prepare mirrored strawberry cake
To prepare this delicious cake, we will only need:
Ingredients
Base
-300 gr. of wheat flour
-1 tablespoon of Sugar
-1 Egg
-100 g of butter
-1 pinch of salt
Cream
-1 can of condensed milk
-A measure of a can of whole milk
-1 tablespoon of corn starch
-2 Yolks
-Lemon zest;
-300 g of strawberries cut in half
Coverage
-1 sachet of strawberry-flavored gelatin powder
Procedure
For the mass
- To begin, we put the sugar and butter in a bowl, mash with the help of a fork.
- Add a pinch of salt, add the egg and butter.
- We mix everything without kneading until we achieve a soft and smooth dough. We sprinkle the counter and stretch the dough evenly with a rolling pin, the size of the mold we are going to use.
- We butter and flour a mold with a removable bottom, place the dough on the mold, arranging the base and sides very well. Prick the surface with a fork.
- Bake in a preheated oven at about 180°C, until golden brown.
For the cream
- In a small pot we place the condensed milk, and we dissolve the starch very well in the milk and add it. We also add the egg yolks.
- We bring the pot to medium heat and mix without stopping until we achieve a thick cream. Finally we add the lemon zest and turn off the heat. We let it cool but cover the pot with film, so that an undesirable crust does not form on the surface of the cream.
Assembling the cake
- Once the cream has cooled, we pour it onto the cake base that we already had ready.
- On top of the cream, we will put the strawberries cut in half, with the cut facing down. We put it in the refrigerator, while we prepare the gelatin.
- We will prepare the gelatin as indicated on the envelope. Obviously we will only use what is necessary to cover the strawberries. We reserve the rest.
- We put the container in cold water to cool it and remove the cake from the refrigerator.
- With the help of a ladle, pour the gelatin over the strawberries, until they are completely covered.
- We put it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours and then it will be ready to try it.
- If you want you can decorate it with some flakes of chantilly cream.
