How to care for phalanx, the plant that purifies the air in the house
If there is one thing that plant lovers particularly appreciate, it is having a species in the house that does not require much attention, is aesthetically beautiful and has a beautiful appearance. This is the case of the phalanx , a very resistant plant that has many qualities.
The phalanx belongs to the genus Chlorophytum , is native to southern Africa and is extremely resistant, able to perfectly tolerate even sudden changes in climate.
This plant has long whitish stems, decorated with small white flowers, and pieces of leaves that can also be used as cuttings to be able to propagate the phalanx and have more than one plant.
There are about 25 species of phalanges and all of them need to be exposed to the sun. However, in periods of high heat, it is good to store it in shady places.
How to heal phalanx
The phalanx tolerates winter well, as long as the temperature does not drop below 14°C. It is good to place the plant in airy places but without drafts: for this reason the plant adapts well to indoor spaces.
The buds of the phalanx appear in the form of small white flowers, which remain hanging and are surrounded by numerous green and white leaves.
Water the phalanx sparingly, avoiding letting the water stagnate. Sprinkle its leaves with water several times a month.
It is not necessary to prune the leaves of the phalanx, as they dry out easily. Remove dry leaves to prevent them from being a source of infection for the plant.
Fertilize every two weeks in spring and summer. In winter, fertilize once a month.
