Combine alcohol and vinegar: save a lot of money when cleaning your home

By Lesia

We spend a lot of money and waste a lot of time constantly searching for  the perfect product.  The supermarket shelves are full of different detergents, each of which seems to promise a miracle in household cleaning. Driven by the pretty packaging and the excellent marketing behind it, we buy different ones thinking that they are really useful. After a while we realise that in reality they are all the same, only the scents and the way of using them change. The results are mostly mediocre and we will also contribute to the emission of toxic substances into the environment and the air we breathe.  There is a way to end this waste of money  , and it is simply by combining two ingredients that we all have at home. Two inexpensive products that, combined, can really work a miracle.

We are talking about ethyl alcohol and wine or apple cider vinegar  (the choice is yours). Let’s see together how to combine these two products, the quantities and above all how to use them to get the most out of this particular combination.

Ethyl alcohol and white wine vinegar: two miracle products

We are already aware that alcohol and vinegar, individually, are excellent products for cleaning the house. Not everyone knows that by combining them you can create a  super product  that will clean your home like never before. Vinegar, in addition to being a food product that enriches our meals, is also an excellent  degreaser  , an excellent  disinfectant  and has the ability to  neutralize all bad odors  .

Ethyl alcohol is the disinfectant par excellence,  it disinfects all surfaces  by eliminating 100% of all bacteria and viruses. It has excellent  solvent properties  (even for grease) that make it perfect for cleaning glass and even for removing ink stains from fabrics. It is also ideal for cleaning all  precious metals,  especially gold.

So, these are two very valid products that we should choose more often for cleaning the house. Both for significant economic savings and in terms of profitability. In fact, after deep cleaning sessions, it can be frustrating not to be able to leave a house as shiny as we would like.  Using these two products makes this impossible.  But what happens if we mix them?  Here’s how to proceed and how to use the mixture of vinegar and ethyl alcohol.

Combine alcohol and vinegar and use them like this: you will see the difference

After having reviewed in broad strokes all the properties and characteristics of vinegar and ethyl alcohol, let’s see how to combine them and  how to get the most out of them  . First of all, what you need to do is get  a spray bottle  into which you can then add the mixture: this will make it much easier to distribute the product on the surfaces. Then you need to fill the spray bottle with about  250 ml of water  , then add  50 ml of ethyl alcohol  and another  50 ml of vinegar.  Screw the spray bottle tightly and mix gently: the product is ready to use.

The first way to get the most out of this product is to use it on  steel taps.  Spray your mixture on a slightly damp cloth and start gently rubbing the steel tap. What happens is amazing: it will become much clearer  to  the eye. The same goes for  all steel surfaces  , even the sink itself. You will also notice how you will be able to remove  lime residue  from the sink as well as polish it to perfection.

Another perfect use for this product is  glass cleaning.  Cleaning glass always causes a bit of difficulty: it is very easy for visible stains to remain after cleaning. This will not happen with vinegar and alcohol. Simply spray them directly onto the glass in the quantity you prefer and then wipe with kitchen paper. There is no need to rinse or make several passes,  one is enough  . The effectiveness of this method will surprise you, you will never go back. The same goes for  mirrors  : the procedure is the same and no halo will remain.

Thanks to our tips you can clean multiple surfaces using just  one product  , without having to spend money on different types of detergents.
