Welcome Moroccan recipe Use Coriander to Cleanse Blood, Skin, Kidneys and…

Coriander is an aromatic herb that has been cultivated since ancient times in the East and Western Europe. Particularly known for its flavors when used in dishes, coriander also has many health benefits once swallowed. We tell you all about its benefits in this article.

1 – FRESH CORIANDER FOR BETTER DIGESTION

Fresh coriander has an almost magical effect because it aids digestion.

Less gas, more comfort

Coriander reduces fermentation and therefore gas in the stomach and intestines. Coriander can be added to some lentil or starchy dishes to stimulate digestion and treat smooth muscle spasms, such as those in the stomach.

2 – PARTICIPATES IN BLOOD COAGULATION

Coriander leaves are a source of vitamin K which is helpful in blood clotting.

3 – REGULATION OF CHOLESTEROL LEVELS

Research in rats has shown that adding coriander seeds to their diet can lower total cholesterol, LDL (“bad”) cholesterol, and triglyceride levels, in addition to increasing HDL (“good”) cholesterol levels. It is worth noting that these properties were observed in animals with already impaired lipid profiles and that the amount of coriander seeds used represented 10% of their daily diet.

One of the mechanisms of action would be the reduction of the absorption of bile acids in the intestine by the effect of coriander, thus resulting in a reduction of cholesterol in the body. These very preliminary results will have to be evaluated in humans before concluding on the proven effectiveness of coriander consumption on blood lipids.

4 – IT HAS DIURETIC PROPERTIES

Thanks to its diuretic properties that optimize the flow of urine, coriander could be able to protect our kidney functions. Interviewed by the Journal des Femmes, Christelle Lassort, naturopath and alternative medicine therapist, explains in an article that coriander is also detoxifying, allowing in particular “to eliminate levels of mercury, aluminum, and lead in the urine”.

Components that can harm several systems in the body, including the kidneys. However, it would be necessary to consume it in its fresh form and in large quantities to benefit from its effects, indicates the naturopath.

5 – A PLANT THAT PLAYS A ROLE IN PREVENTING DIABETES

Coriander has more than one trick up its sleeve, since some studies have already shown that it helps improve blood sugar levels, and that it could therefore be a valuable aid for patients suffering from diabetes, and even as a preventative measure, as part of a balanced diet.

6 – ANTI-ARTHRITIS FORMULA

Coriander leaves may also help reduce pain in people with arthritis, a property attributed to the vitamins A and C, phenolic acids and polyphenols they contain.

In his book Plants of Well-Being, the great herbalist Michel Pierre recommends the following formula against joint pain:

3 drops of coriander essential oil in 1 tablespoon of sweet almond, massaging the areas to be treated twice a day.

Another possibility is to let 50 g of coriander seeds macerate in a liter of olive oil for 15 days in full sun. Then press and filter. Massage the painful joints with the oil.

How to use it?

In fresh cooking, its leaves add flavor and increase the digestibility of dishes. Finely chopped, coriander enhances a salad or an omelette.

As an infusion to aid digestion, infuse a tablespoon of dried leaves in a cup of simmering water for ten minutes off the heat. Drink two tablespoons a day, preferably after meals.

In capsules to absorb gas, swallow one capsule twice a day, as a course of one week per month or two days per week.

In aromatherapy to limit spasms, pour a drop of coriander essential oil (EO) into a teaspoon of honey after a meal.

To avoid bloating after a heavy meal, mix one drop of noble chamomile EO and one of coriander in ten drops of macadamia vegetable oil, then apply to the stomach, massaging along the path of the intestine and the solar plexus.
