Welcome Tips 5 Tips for Clean and Fresh Smelling Clothes

How  to make  your laundry  and clothes  smell fresh  ? When you’ve been hot, when you smoke or when you’ve been around a smoker, after a day at work, after taking public transport or after running, and sometimes even after repeated washing, your  clothes  don’t  smell  so good anymore.

1 – TRADITIONAL LAVENDER SACHETS

Our grandmothers knew the virtues of lavender well: soothing and calming, it is ideal in bedrooms. It can be enjoyed in herbal teas or soaked in a cloth to decongest the respiratory tract during a cold.

To perfume your laundry with lavender:

  • Under piles of clothes or at the back of cupboards, flowers fill your laundry with fragrance.
  • Slipped under the fitted sheet of the bed, the sachets help you fall asleep.
  • At the bottom of the dirty laundry basket, they mask odors.

2 – ESSENTIAL OILS

Essential oils are volatile and therefore allow you to perfume the surrounding fabrics. Among the many existing scents, you will certainly find the one that suits you.

Some suggestions for enjoying the scents of essential oils:

  • Add a washcloth soaked in 10 to 15 drops of essential oil of your choice to the full drum of your washing machine.
  • Dilute these drops with a little vinegar in the fabric softener compartment of your washing machine.

3 – BATH SALTS

Add a pinch of orange or lavender bath salts to the last rinse water.

4 – NEUTRALIZE ODORS WITH WHITE VINEGAR

  • To neutralize bad odors such as tobacco, cooking or musty odors, use white vinegar.
  • Instructions for use:  simply pour a coffee cup of white vinegar into the softener compartment. Additional advice: do not smoke near the drying laundry, the smell of tobacco can soak into the textile fiber, and it is then difficult to get rid of it.

5 – BICARBONATE

  • An alkaline salt, soluble in water  baking soda is a fine, white powder with virtually no odor.
  • 2 tablespoons of baking soda in the laundry will revive the colors and neutralize any bad odors in the laundry, while replacing the fabric softener.
