How to keep spiders away from your home?
We are often tempted to use chemicals to repel or eliminate spiders. But it is still possible to keep them away from your home by applying ecological tips and methods that have nothing to envy of conventional products on the market.

Spiders do not like the smell of lemon at all. To use this natural and above all economical insect repellent, we recommend mixing 1 liter of water with a tablespoon of lemon essential oil. Once you have the scented repellent, pour it into a spray bottle and then spray the areas where the pests nest. It should be noted that it is best to avoid colored painted walls as they could be damaged by contact with the acid in the lemon. Otherwise, if you do not have lemon essential oil, you can opt for lemon juice. In this case, it is advisable to use a large pure quantity of this citrus fruit so that it can give off a strong smell.

Other essential oils such as lavender, tea tree and mint are also effective in keeping arachnids away from home. These are great alternatives to lemon.

white vinegar
White vinegar is the ultimate natural ingredient for repelling spiders and all types of pest insects. Mix equal parts water and white vinegar in a spray bottle, then spray it directly on areas where spiders tend to nest. For example, places like doors, windowsills, vents or even corners of windows.

Spiders don’t like the smell of chestnuts. Place a few around your home where pests nest and it will only be a matter of time before they come back.

Cedarwood
One of the best natural arachnid repellents you can use is cedarwood. And for good reason, incorporating enough of it in different places in your home will keep spiders from nesting elsewhere. Stock your closets or store your clothes in a container filled with cedar and you can rest assured that they will be protected from spiders. Also note that cedar protects your clothes from moths.

Coconut Oil and Vinegar
A generous amount of a combination of white vinegar and coconut oil is great when it comes to keeping spiders away from your home. To do this, make a mixture of a cup of white vinegar and half a cup of coconut oil and pour the solution into a spray bottle. You can spray your natural repellent on different areas of your home, your outdoor space or even your garage.

Clove Essential Oil and Dish Soap
Another effective natural spider repellent is to mix 5 drops of clove essential oil and 5 drops of liquid soap with a little water. Mix the ingredients well and then pour it into a spray bottle. Mix together then spray the places where spiders thrive, such as your window, deck or garden.

First, test the solution on an inconspicuous area, such as a small section of upholstery, before using it on larger areas. In fact, oils are likely to stain surfaces.

They are all safe alternatives to commercial insecticides that also have the benefit of making our interiors smell nice!
