How to Make Crispy Oven Baked Cauliflower

By Lesia

Ingredients
1 head of cauliflower
Salt, to taste
A pinch of nutmeg
For the dough:
A touch of sweet paprika powder
2 eggs
2 cloves garlic, chopped
A little grated nutmeg
A pinch of salt
Preparation
Prepare the cauliflower:

Start by preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Take a head of cauliflower and remove all the green leaves. Rinse thoroughly under cold water.
Place the cauliflower on a cutting board and carefully cut the florets. Aim for bite-sized pieces.
Place the florets in a colander and wash them well. Let the excess water drain.
Prepare the dough:
In a bowl, combine the wheat flour and sweet paprika powder.
Crack the eggs into a separate bowl and beat until well combined.
Gradually pour the melted butter into the beaten eggs while whisking continuously.
Add the chopped garlic, grated nutmeg and a pinch of salt to the egg mixture. Mix well.
Slowly pour the egg mixture into the bowl with the flour and paprika. Stir until the batter is smooth and all the ingredients are well incorporated.
Coat the cauliflower:
Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, making sure it is evenly coated. Let the excess batter drip off.
Place the coated florets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Be sure to leave space between each floret for even cooking.
Sprinkle a pinch of salt and nutmeg on top of the coated cauliflower.

Cook and enjoy:
Once your oven has reached the desired temperature, carefully slide the baking sheet with the cauliflower into the oven.
Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cauliflower is golden brown and crispy.
Remove the cauliflower from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
Serve your crispy baked cauliflower as a snack, side dish or appetizer. Enjoy it on its own or dip it in your favorite sauce.
