What is the use of salt for washing clothes?
Grey curtains, persistent sweat stains, faded clothes… we all regularly face these kinds of inconveniences. The efforts to try to solve the problem are multiplied. And to think that you had the “miracle solution” at your fingertips! A stain remover and colour fixer without equal, salt has many properties to effectively care for your clothes. Has your favourite clothing lost its original intense colour? Then you can count on salt to revive its dye and restore its lost shine.

Can’t stand to see your curtains darken over time? This dirty and old look ruins the decor of your interior. Rest assured, to restore the whiteness to these dull fabrics, simply soak them for a few hours in salt water. You can also wash them in the washing machine: just pour two tablespoons of salt into the drum of the appliance. It will effectively restore the whiteness of light fabrics. You will feel that they are as good as new! Take advantage of the opportunity to wash your coloured clothes: the salt will preserve their intense hue and delay the fading process.

As an added bonus, salt is a natural stain remover of choice. It is very popular for removing stubborn stains, sweat rings and yellowish marks on clothes. Not only will it absorb grease, but it will also neutralise bad odours. How to proceed? Simply spray it directly on the stains and leave it to act for a few hours, before starting the usual wash cycle. You can also soak the stained clothes in a salt water solution. It is even better for very old and difficult to remove stains.

NB: salt helps to quickly remove the smell of dampness or cold tobacco.

No more dripping candles: nothing more unpleasant than candle wax dripping everywhere! Not only can this quickly stain the tablecloth or your pretty glass table, but you may also have trouble handling the candle with the risk of burning yourself. So try this brilliant trick: soak your candles in a well-concentrated solution of salt water for a few hours. Let them dry quietly before lighting them. There you go, done, no more leaks!
Stop smelly feet: if your shoes smell bad and there is no talcum powder to eliminate the smell, don’t worry, salt will come to your rescue. Simply sprinkle a tablespoon of coarse salt inside your shoes. Leave it to act for a few hours (ideally overnight) so that the salt can effectively absorb the unpleasant smell. Finally, shake the shoes to remove the salt residue and dry them. Here they are perfectly deodorized!
Ants will no longer be relevant: have you been the victim of an ant invasion at home? Don’t panic, there is a radical method to make them disappear.
